 All local authorities agree , in attrigbuting the origin of the Buledais to a common ancestor, who is stared to have come either from Garmsel in the Helmand valley or from maskat. The former story appears to be more probable, as the Buledais wer admittedly Zikris, and their arrival in Makran was probably contemporaneous with the rise of the Zikri sect, which took place in the fifteenth century. The Bu_said, Who founded the Buledais, Is also stated to have been connected withn the present rul;ers of maskat. The name Buledai was taken form the valley of the Buleda where the buledais resided. Assuming the the date of Bu-Said’s arrival in Makran, as given above, is correc’ a considerable time had elapsed before they acquired supremacy in the country at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The names of their rulers wer as follows:- sheh Bu said Shukrulla, sheh Kasim, sheh Zehri, Sheh Husain, Sheh Ahmed, Sheh Abdullah And sheh Kasim. Bu Said is doubtless, shown in the list as the founder of the family, and was probably not the list as the founder of the family, and was probably not oe of the actual rulers. Nothing is known of the rule of the Buledais, but and inscription on a grave stone over the grave of Omar and Maho near sami refers to Sheh Zehri and a tombstone was observed by Colonel Ross at Gwadar stating the ir had been engraved in 1142 A.H(1729-30 A.D) “in the badshhi (reign) of Sheh Bilar” sheh Bilar was the uncle of Sheh Kasim, the last Buledai.

  The Buledai rule terminated wihth sheh Kasim about 1740 the Gichki power had been gradually growing and by the beginning of the eighteenth century the Gickis apper to have held more of the country than the Buledais. Sheh Bilar, sheh Kasim Buledai’s Uncle, had forsken the Zikri fath for Islam and on advancigh form Gwadar was defeated by Malik Dinar, Gichki, with the help of the Zuikris and slain. Sheh Kasim then appealed to Nadir Shah who ordered his general, Taki Khan then about to co-operate withn him through Makran in and attack on India to invade Kech. This was in 1739 Nadir, meanwhile, found himself able to dispene with the aid of Taki Khan and, on the latter’s retirement, Gwadar, the last Buledai stronghold, fell into Malik dinar’s hands. No Buledais are now to be found in Makran but some are still living in Geh and Kaskand across the border.

        The Buledis also called Burdi, numbered in 1901 5,769 (males 3, 114 and females 2,655). The clans wer classed as Gola (5,134), Jafuzai (14) Kahorkani (36), Kotachi (19), Laulai (68), Pitafi (185) and Retti (13).

        The tribe derives its name freom the Buleda valley in Makran, and traces tis descent from one Abu Said who settled in that place.

        The majority of those recoded in Balochistan are Golas. The word gola means slave in Sindi and the Golas are looked upon as not pure Baloch. The Golas enumenrated in 1901 wer mosty those found in Nasirabad, now a tehsil in the sibi District. In Kachi the Golas are found as tenants at will in the Rind and jatoi tribal areas wher the amount to about 150 and 50 families respectively. Practically they have nothing to do with the golas in Nasir abad and live as subject race under the local chiefs in the said areas. The Laulais who are also said to be of Jat origin live in the Rind country as tenant and number about 20 families. The

Of thes Sher Khan is held entirely revenue-free, while in others they have half revenue rights( nisf ambari) it is ssaid that these rights were given to them by Nasir Khan I for services redered to him at Delhi and as compensation for the lives of those killed. The principal headmen are Ghulam ali Khan the headman of the tribe who lives at jafarabad near Jacobabad in sind and Gull Muhammad, who lives at sher Khan Neat Bhag. The Buledis are also known as Mir Ali and in many of the ballads are known by hat name.
